Students’ Stipend Project:
GUK has a special project to accelerate the rate of illiteracy among poor community people in its working area by providing financial assistance to the poor and ultra poor students. There is a committee consisting of three members to assess the financial condition of the poor students applying for stipends. The committee selects the deserving students under certain criteria. During the period under report a total number of 44 students were given stipends from the students’ stipends fund of GUK amount into BDT. 517060. GUK generates fund for the project from the surplus of service charges of Micro Credit program. Another 26 poor students were also awarded with stipends by PKSF amounting to BDT. 468000.
